1/4 x 28 SAE Self-forming Thread Straight Hydraulic Grease Fitting. Self-forming threads can be screwed or driven into an untapped hole. The recommended size of the hole for a 1/4 x 28 thread is 5.84-5.97mm (Ref SAE J534) but can be dependent on the material.
Avoid chamfering as a sharp edge to the hole helps the thread bite.
